Who we are

appusula ("we", "us") provides App Store Optimization and app-intelligence tooling. This policy explains what data we process and why.

Data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email, and hashed password (we never store plaintext passwords; passwords are hashed with scrypt).
  • Workspace content: the apps, keywords, and competitors you choose to track, and notes you add.
  • Connected-integration data: when you connect a data source we store the metrics it returns. From App Store Connect: downloads, engagement (impressions, product page views, conversion rate), and active-device usage, broken down by country. From Google Analytics 4: active users and the country they connect from, shown on your dashboard. From RevenueCat: subscription and revenue figures, including the customer country we use to map earnings on the dashboard. From Apple Search Ads: campaign spend and keyword performance. Integration credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. These figures are aggregated metrics about your apps; we do not receive your end users' names or contact details.
  • Public store data: app metadata, ratings, and reviews fetched from sanctioned public endpoints (e.g. the iTunes Search/Lookup API and the Apple review RSS feed). Reviewer display names appearing in public reviews may be stored.
  • Site analytics: on appusula.com we use Google Analytics 4 (with IP anonymization) to understand how the site is used. GA4 processes your approximate location (country, derived from a truncated IP that we ask Google not to store), device and browser type, pages viewed, referrer, and a randomized measurement identifier. If you accept analytics cookies this is tied to a cookie-based session; if you decline it runs in a cookieless mode that sends only aggregated, non-identifying pings. Google Ireland/LLC acts as our processor for this data. See "Cookies and consent" below.
  • Billing data: paid subscriptions are handled by our payment processor, DodoPayments, which acts as merchant of record. When you subscribe, DodoPayments collects and processes your payment and billing details (for example card or other payment information, billing name, address, and tax/VAT data) under its own privacy policy. We do not store full card numbers; we retain your plan, subscription status, and the processor's customer/subscription identifiers to operate your account and billing.

How we use it

To provide the service: tracking ranks, computing ASO scores and insights, sending you alerts, and operating your account and billing. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your workspace content to train third-party models without your instruction.

AI processing

When you run an AI feature, the relevant listing text and (for ASO scoring) screenshots are sent to the AI provider you configured (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). We pass only what is needed for that request.

Cookies and consent

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a preference cookie for your theme. On appusula.com we also offer Google Analytics 4. Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode v2: consent is set to denied by default, so no analytics cookies are stored and no analytics identifiers are collected until you select "Accept" in the consent banner. If you decline, GA4 still loads but stays in this cookieless, non-identifying mode: it may send aggregated, cookieless pings (used by Google for anonymous modeling) rather than being switched off entirely. We record your choice in a first-party cookie so we do not ask again; clearing that cookie brings the banner back.

Your rights (GDPR/CCPA)

You can export or delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → General, or by contacting us. Deletion removes your workspace content and account; some records may be retained where required by law.

Data retention & security

We retain workspace data while your account is active. Secrets are encrypted; access is scoped per organization. We use sanctioned data rails only and honour the source platforms' rate limits and terms.
